The following charts, signs, and parent reminder cards can be downloaded for use at home. I have found that they hold up best if you print them out on cardstock but the most important thing is that they are in a visible place. These items are used in conjunction with the specific steps described in my book, available via www.barnesandnoble.com.
For Parenting Toddlers to Teens
Kids have it easy in the cooperation department: either they decide to cooperate with their grown-ups or they decide not to. Adults, on the other hand, have multiple options to consider when responding to children’s choices. To help, we offer a number of charts and reminder cards, which you are welcome to use or if you are the do-it-yourself creative type, it would be fine to make your own. I have found that the charts and reminder cards hold up best if you print them out on cardstock but the most important thing is that they are in a visible place so that they can be checked as needed.
The Cooperation Counts program helps to get the kids’ attention by using a series of time warnings, counting clues, 3’s, work-off’s and stars. Charts and signs provide visibility and accountability for everyone.. The parent reminder cards help the adults to stay focused on the specific steps. It is our hope that these materials will serve as cues for parents to keep on track while using the steps of the system.
